After mastering the basics and maintaining a $1.3 million book of business in only a year and a half, Celeste was promoted again to Sales Manager of Denver. “I’ve been lucky enough to work under one of the best Sales Managers in the country, Michael McGonigle. No matter how well I’m doing, he always pushes me to be better. His constant involvement and interest in my growth shows me exactly how I’d like to be should I move up into a management position.”
Now that Celeste is managing the Denver Market, she has been focusing all of her energy on developing her own Account Executives to be as successful as possible. By keeping a positive attitude, continuously improving his skill set, and maintaining a strong dedication to the field, Dan was able to consistently produce in the top 10% of his sales class. After 18 months, he was promoted to District Sales Manager of Team San Francisco.
Dan is a perfect example of how success can be attained through drive and dedication at Worldwide Express. In only 14 months as a manager, Dan was able to develop Kurt Watkins from an account executive into a management role. Maintaining this type of focus and commitment will give Dan a long and successful career at Worldwide Express; it will also help Team San Francisco continue to be one of the fastest growing markets in the nation.
Jennifer Funk
Senior Account Executive
South Los Angeles, CA
After graduating from California State - Dominguez Hills with a degree in Marketing, Jennifer held the belief that she wanted to join the world of advertising. Straight out of college she found it difficult to jump directly into this field; it seemed that you either needed to start as an assistant, or have sales experience. Jennifer chose the latter, and had no idea that decision would lead her to where she is today…one of the top producing sales executives in Worldwide Express history.
She joined Worldwide Express in February of 2006 under manager Samara Whiting in the South Los Angeles territory. With her discipline, and belief in the Worldwide Express sales training and development program, Jennifer’s numbers quickly grew. In 2007, Jennifer took 1st place in both the Dog Days of Summer Contest, as well as the National Sales Contest.
In 2008, she repeated her win, taking the #1 spot in the National Sales Contest again. Over her three year career with Worldwide Express, her total contest winnings equal $65,000.In October of 2008, Jennifer was offered the District Sales Manager position for the South LA market. Her office continues to be at the top of the charts. She believes that the culture, dedication, and undeniable work ethic of her team are what maintain their success.
“Our team gets down to business. We sell the right kind of deals, and we sell them the right way. Structure is a key factor in our office. We all work too hard to let sloppiness get in the way of our success.”
Kurt Watkins
Sales Manager
Orange County, CA
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kurt Watkins was ready to use his business degree. He hit the ground running with the Worldwide San Francisco office in July 2006, and quickly became the top sales executive out of his training class. Within 14 months, he captured third place in the National Sales Contest, won first place for account executives in his own organization, and became the highest grossing sales person in the San Francisco market’s history, accumulating $25,000 in cash and prizes for the year.
Under the leadership of Jim Bennett, Shaun Dilday, and his former District Sales Manager Dan Woodhead, Kurt attributed his success in San Francisco to several key factors:
“Approaching the business the correct way from the start leads to sustainable success. Couple that approach with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to always being open to learning, and you can then have a long term vision of professional growth. I think Worldwide Express is one of the greatest companies to work for. Our training is second to none, our leaders are motivated and forward thinking, and the culture is young and progressive. Being in sales is not easy; it’s not supposed to be. But with the support and motivation that stems from the corporate office, down to the great teams that develop in our local markets, the job becomes inspiring.”
One week after the 2007 Annual Conference, Kurt was offered the position of District Sales Manager of Orange County. His promotion within 14 months of joining the company is testament to the opportunity for rapid advancement at Worldwide Express for those who perform at a high level.
As one of the youngest managers in the system, Kurt looks forward to creating a fun, positive, success driven atmosphere in his office. “The part of my position that I am most excited about, is that I am given the opportunity to train and develop young talent behind me. Watching the new representatives that I lead grow professionally and personally will be the best part of my job.”
Kurt went on to lead Orange County to become one of the top offices in the country, placing third overall in the National Sales Contest in 2008, and taking first place within the Bennett organization in his first year as a manager. His efforts earned him over $30,000 in cash and prizes.
We look for big things from Kurt Watkins in the years to come in Team Bennett.
Lauren Grega
Senior Key Account Executive
San Francisco, CA
Straight out of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Lauren Grega came on board with Worldwide Express in March of 2007. Lauren knew that Worldwide Express would be a great fit for her because of “the company’s commitment to development, as well as the motivated and energetic corporate culture.” And it didn’t take long for this young woman to use the resources available to her at Worldwide Express to begin a flourishing career in key account management.
Under the direct management of Dan Woodhead in San Francisco, Lauren Grega quickly made a name for herself at Worldwide Express. Within her first seven months with the company, Lauren was recognized as one of the top Key Account Executives in the country, earning fourth place in the National Key Account Contest. That same year, Lauren placed second in the Key Account Executive Dog Days of summer contest, locking in over $35K in revenue in the summer months alone.
Within two years with the organization, Lauren was promoted to a Senior Key Account Executive Role. Her focus in 2009 turns more towards generating new business, while still continuing to focus on account retention in San Francisco. By following the fundamental processes taught in Key Account training, Lauren continues to maintain a strong relationship with both San Francisco’s book of business as well as with her team. She attends every training that she can, and makes a point to develop her skill set outside of business hours as much as possible.
Lauren has set a goal to attending ACE training this year, and also has her eyes set on the National Key Account Executive Contest. Further in the future, Miss Grega hopes to develop into a leadership role in Key Account Management. With that, we’ll be looking for great things to come out of San Francisco this year.

Tana’s work ethic, drive, and continuous ambition to be the best have allowed her to gain continued success and recognition in her position. She was awarded fifth place in the 2007 National Sales Contest. She also placed top five in the International Sales Contest in 2008. Tana has always been first to volunteer for various tasks and is always ready for a challenge. Delray Beach, FL
Tina Petinakis began her career at Worldwide Express in August of 2004. As a Key Account Manager in Delray Beach, she came on board at a time when the franchise was under a great transition phase. Tina took advantage of working closely with Franchise owner Joe Judson and appreciated every learning opportunity that this new position had to offer. She was able to grow and develop exponentially along with the growth of her office.
Tina’s work ethic, drive, and continuous ambition to be the best have allowed her to gain continued success and recognition in her position. In her first year in the organization, she placed in a National Key Account Contest for international sales and continued to place in the Key Account National contests every year after. Will Whitcomb
Sales Manager
Baltimore, MD
In less than a year and a half, Will has added 60 customer accounts that generate $32k in weekly sales revenue. Because of this rapid growth, he not only won the February 2007 monthly sales contest, but he also placed second in the 2007 National Sales Contest. Will’s commitment to excellence was a driving force behind the exceptional growth that the Delray Beach office experienced between October 2006 and October 2007. His success and vision for the business positioned him to move into a leadership position in early 2008. Will took over as Sales Manager of the Baltimore market for Fusion Partners LLC, a Worldwide Express franchise group, in April of 2008 and quickly turned it into one of the fastest growing offices in the country.
Just as he did as an account executive, Will is quickly establishing himself as one of the most dedicated sales managers in the country.
“Success in our business is not accidental. The individuals that are dedicated to getting the job done and are detailed with their approach always find a way to separate themselves from their peers. I took the fundamentals that I learned while I was a sales representative in the Delray Beach market and applied them to Baltimore. We prospect, present, close, and setup the right type of business, and we always meet the right decision makers at the right level. Baltimore’s commitment to the job and attention to detail will help us separate ourselves from the rest of the field in 2009.”
