Meet some key players on the Worldwide Express team.

Melissa Larson, National Director of Business Development

World Wide Express Ms. Melissa Larson’s role as National Key Account Management Director is a fundamental to Worldwide Express’s growth.  Ms. Larson is responsible for helping recruit, train and develop key account executives across the country.  Ms. Larson’s innovative Key Account Program assists Worldwide Express’s owners, managers and sales professionals manage existing customers throughout the nation.

Ms. Larson began her career with Worldwide Express as an account executive in the Minneapolis market, where she quickly built a book of business of more than $1 million in annual revenue. Ms. Larson was an instrumental force in driving the Minneapolis office to a Top 10 position in the nation, which today bills more than $5 million annually.

In 2005, she joined the corporate office in Dallas, Texas.  Her first order of business was to formulate and implement a training program designed to teach key account executives Worldwide Express’s unique approach to managing America’s small and medium sized businesses in competing in today’s global economy.  The result is the nationally recognized Key Account Program that Ms. Larson was credited for developing.  In addition, Ms. Larson is also involved in all of the company’s sales trainings and works very closely with Worldwide Express’s franchise base and sales force.

Ms. Larson was awarded DHL’s Corporate Partnership Excellence Award in 2005 and most recently was a featured speaker at the 2008 Women’s Expo in Minnesota.
 
Ms. Larson holds a business degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Brendan Newman, National Director of Business Development

World Wide Express Brendan started his career with Worldwide Express in the greater Chicago area under Tom Madine. Brendan quickly developed into a strong performer, achieving a 7th place finish in the National Sales Contest in 2002.

He was promoted to Sales Manager for the Schaumburg franchise after only 15 months with the company. In his first year in management, Brendan again made his mark by achieving a 3rd place position in the 2003 National Sales Manager Contest. In 2004, he again placed in the National Sales Manager Contest, earning a 2nd finish. Over the two years, his total prize earnings were $12,500 above and beyond his annual compensation.

In 2005, Brendan furthered his career by taking ownership of a franchise in the Detroit area. Brendan has developed the Southfield, MI office into a strong organization, and he expects nothing less than the success he experienced while in Chicago. At the 2006 Annual Conference, Brendan won first place in the Tier 2 Manager competition, bringing home a prize amount of $17,500.

In March 2007, Brendan joined the corporate staff in Dallas, and is part of the sales development team.

Dustin Wesley, National Director of Business Development

World Wide Express Dustin Wesley joined Worldwide Express in 2005 as a sales executive for the St. Louis market where he contributed to significant revenue growth. In less than two years, Mr. Wesley was promoted to the Field Sales Development position at Worldwide Express’ corporate headquarters.

As a member of the National Field Sales Development team, Mr. Wesley plays an integral role in the professional training and development of the company’s new sales people. In addition, he is intricately involved in all of the company’s sales trainings and oversees a Strategy Group of select franchise markets by providing training, day-to-day sales operations as well as frequent in-market visits.

Mr. Wesley has been recognized for numerous achievements, including the Worldwide Express 2007 Corporate Excellence Award.

Mr. Wesley began his career with Worldwide Express after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004 with a B.S. in Economics.
