The Worldwide Express Story – How We Shipped Our Way to Success

Worldwide Express began selling franchises in 1995 with the simple goal of providing unmatched levels of service and competitive rates to the small to medium sized business segment (SMB) of the U.S. air express and ground market.

The SMB segment was and continues to be the fastest growing portion of the U.S. air express and ground market. Worldwide knew it could do a better job than the competition. We treat the SMB segment like Fortune 500 customers – with the respect, flexibility and localized, hands-on service they deserve.

UPS® understands our efforts and philosophy and so do more than 40,000 customers. Collectively they represent more than $300 million dollars in sales and 17 million shipments nationwide.

Following are some highlights that underscore the tremendous growth of our company:

  • Began selling franchises in 1995
  • Sold 100th franchise in 2000
  • Reached $50 million in system wide sales 2000
  • Reached $100 million in system wide sales 2002
  • Reached $200 million in system wide sales 2005
  • Reached $275 million in system wide sales in 2006
  • Reached $300 million in system wide sales in 2007
  • Began new era by engaging UPS in 2008

And while numbers aren’t everything, they do reflect that we have identified a very large segment of the business population that has been underserved by their former carriers.

We have just begun to scratch the surface of the $65 billion U.S. air express and ground market and look forward to continued domestic growth as well as abroad. We truly appreciate the support of our franchisees, their employees and our valued customers without whom our success would not be possible.
